Larkin was told during the 2nd intermission he could not play the 3rd period because of covid protocol per MLIVE.

Move Suter up to the top line tonight vs. Vegas and see what happens. Worked pretty well the last time they did. Might help spark some offense.

Larkin practiced this morning and will play tonight. Pulling him in the middle of the last game was apparently due to incompetent testing. What a pile of bs.

According to Blash....The home team is responsible for the testing and results (time). So essentially it was the Stars fault on the ā€œtimingā€. Stating most teams get results in about 30 minutes. A bunch of horse___!

Glad it was a false positive

How is that even allowed? Teams are basically allowed to take out the other teams best players just by saying they had a "positive" test result. McDavid and Draisaitl are going to start testing positive every road game they play now. Imagine the BS that will go on in the playoffs if the NHL doesn't punish a team like Dallas for taking a player out of the game for a bs reason. Dallas should be fined a large amount for that *uck up and if they do it again they lose the game regardless of the score. Either that or the NHL has to control all testing of players.

Before it came out, on Wed I said it was BSā€” if it was the NHL, the Red Wings.....never thought it would be on the Stars.

Pulling a player after he played 40 minutes, in between periods should NEVER happen. It had to be a total mind f*** to the entire team. This isnā€™t an injury, this is COVID. Having the lone unvaccinated player, playing closely, loved ones etc.

The timing could be all coincidental, but to do that after 40 when the team was mounting a comeback........

Itā€™s horse manure

That needs to rectified immediately and never happen again

Yeah, NHL will have to monitor closely the testing or this kind of crap is going to happen again.

Apparently Elias Pettersson (3 goals, 9 points in 17 games with a -3 rating) is now on the 3rd line in Vancouver. Maybe Yzerman should trade them Rasmussen (1 goal, 7 points in 19 games with a -3 rating) for him if they want a cheaper 3rd line center...seems like a fair trade

The Wings should make it a fair trade and kick in Danny Deke with half his salary retained as well.

If Yzerman could pull that off he would deserve a gold statue of himself at LCA and a lifetime contract to stay on as GM

I had a feeling the Wings were going to lose to Arizona. Wings are horrible on the road. Home team has an easier time matching up to try and shut down the Larkin line. Wings are not getting much offense from the other 3 lines.

On this road trip the Wings have allowed 5 goals by defensemen. A few more goals were shots from the point that were tipped in or rebounds off point shots. All this because of the collapsing system they use in the defensive zone that allows teams free time and space at the blueline and around the boards. I keep saying it but i really really hate this damn system. Other teams pressure the Wings defensemen as soon as they get the puck which leads to either blocked shots or the defense just throwing it down low around the boards. You would think the Wings coaching staff would notice this and change their system but nope. Lets keep having 3 forwards and 2 defensemen trying to play goalie instead. It's working so well too with the Wings only 4 goals against from being dead last in the league.

What a ugly road trip and a reality check for the Wings. No secondary scoring whatsoever for this team as of right now. Defense is awful. Somehow worse than last year. Yes some of the younger guys are bright spots but holy moly our team isn't very good. Can't lose that game to the Yotes last night.

Staal and DeKeyser are a year older. Nemeth and Merrill were good in their own zone. Stecher has been underutilized/injured. Mantha was underrated defensively. Helm and Glendening were both solid defensively. Nedeljkovic is good but still only a sidegrade from Bernier.

IMO it's not a surprise that this team is worse defensively than last year. They are worse on paper defensively than last year.

A lot of the guys we lost might have been mediocre to poor players overall, but they tended to be okay to solid defensively. Getting rid of them (and replacing them with the players we did) absolutely made the team better overall, but also made us a little worse defensively in exchange for being better offensively.

The Wings aren't better offensively though. We're better offensively than the last 2 years but that's not saying much. And more so that's to Raymond. We're not getting enough from the 2nd line and on down. Ras has been a huge disappointment so far this year. As been some other players. Losing to the Yotes I can't even say the frustration that goes into that. Scoring one goal against the leagues worst team doesn't cut it.
